Sony is reportedly hitting ‘pause’ on PlayStation VR2 headset production, as unsold stock builds up and they try to get it working on PC.

Sony probably wishes they’d never released it Video games hardware has to be designed and planned for several years in advance, so in an ideal world Sony almost certainly wouldn’t have released a £530 VR headset at the height of a cost of living crisis. It’s still strange that they scheduled it for so early in the PlayStation 5’s lifespan though, considering they’ve only ever released one first party title for it and have not so much as hinted at another one.

‘Currently, there are limited games that support VR devices and that will also lead to lack of motivation for players to purchase VR hardware. This limited content also has a reason: the development cost for VR games is substantially higher than normal titles.
