A massive leak has revealed that Microsoft will launch a new Xbox Series X consoles in August 2024 and a new Xbox Series S console in October 2024.from Microsoft's court battle with the FTC, which appear to have been improperly redacted, show that mid-generation refreshes of each console are planned. The new Xbox Series X console has been codenamed Brooklin and is an all-digital console that sports a rather ugly Alexa-like cylindrical design.
The documents also reveal a new Xbox controller, codenamed Sebile, which will be announced this year. This new controller will include new haptic features, an accelerometer, quieter buttons and thumbsticks, a rechargeable and swappable battery, and new modular thumbsticks. Interestingly, you'll also be able to lift up the controller to wake it.
The new Xbox Series S, which is codenamed Ellewood, will feature"more internal storage," and some of the same features that Brooklin has, including improved Wi-Fi and Bluetooth support and reduced power consumption. Again, it looks like there are no major performance improvements here. Ellewood is expected to launch in August 2024 for $299, while Brooklin will launch in November 2024 for $499, which is the same price as the current Xbox Series X.
