THE Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. continues to clean the ranks of its internet gaming licensees or IGLs, formerly called Philippine offshore gaming operators to stop irregularities and criminal activities.Pagcor Chairman and CEO Alejandro Tengco said on Sunday that from the original 46 firms that were granted licenses under his administration last year, the number is down to 42 after the cancellation last week of another license, while three others have been suspended.
This year, Pagcor said it expects to generate P6.5 billion.Illegal POGO lobbyistSenators on Sunday dared Tengco to identify the alleged former government official who he claimed lobbied for 'illegal' POGOs.Senate President Francis Escudero and Senators Joel Villanueva and Risa Hontiveros made the challenge after Tengco said a former Cabinet official tried to facilitate the grant of licenses to some of the illegal POGOs.
