The Verge reportedly got a chance to an early look at the ASUS ROG Ally X and based on the site's account, the gaming handheld has been given more than just cosmetic changes. Now, a new rumour points to the console having nearly 50% more RAM and a promise of up eight hours of battery life.
The rumour was propped up by X, formerly Twitter, user Arsene Lupin , who claims that the Ally X is poised to ship out with 24GB LPDDR5X RAM and a new battery that will allegedly let gamers run the console for eight hours straight. While the endurance of the latter is still unconfirmed, it runs parallel to ASUS' promise of a much longer battery life with the upcoming console.Sadly, with so little information available, you're going to have to take those claims with the usual dose of MSG.
In regards to aesthetics, as per The Verge, some of those changes include rounded out sides for the palm grip; smaller rear buttons that have also been placed slight farther away; the placement of the ABXY buttons have supposedly been shifted downwards ever so slightly; and the joysticks seemingly have a 'tacky' rubber coating in the middle.
