Kai Cenat no longer faces charges after paying a fee and apologizing for a riot that broke out during a PlayStation giveaway he held in NYC.

⭐️HERE’S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW⭐️He did not have permission to hold the event. NYC prosecutors dropped those charges after Cenat paid a fee and apologized on social media. Influencer Kai Cenat will no longer have to go to court to face charges stemming from an event he held last August that led to a riot.

He is one of the most followed people on the platform, and was crowned streamer of the year at the Streamy Awards in both 2022 and 2023. The following week, Cenat took to Twitch where he apologized for what happened and said he was now more aware of his power as an influencer. Charges dropped “The result was an unsafe situation for the people who live and work in the neighbourhood, first responders, and my followers who attended the event,” he said. “I have learned a very valuable lesson that social media is a very powerful tool to do good, but it can also cause dangerous, unwanted situations if it is not used properly,” he said.

Prosecutors required Cenat to pay $55,000 USD to pay for damages caused by his event.
