THE Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. (Pagcor) announced that its representatives and members of the Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group (PNP-ACG) arrested last Wednesday 16 people allegedly running an illegal online raffle on Facebook.

This May 1, 2024, photo shows members of the Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group and representatives from the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. at the operation center of the group that manages the Facebook Page “Lucky Dream 4” which runs an illegal online raffle. Several computer equipment, gadgets and other gaming paraphernalia were confiscated during the raid, according to the Pagcor.

“The suspects, which run the FB Page ‘Lucky Dream 4,’ were caught red-handed in their office inside a subdivision in Biñan, Laguna while livestreaming their 50th raffle event,” read a statement issued by the Pagcor on May 2. “We have been receiving reports of illegal online activities including those in social media platforms,” Tengco said. “As the country’s gaming regulator, it is our duty to protect the public–especially the youth–from these illegal online gambling sites.”

Villanueva added that in one raffle event, the group can sell an average of 40,000 tickets to 50,000 tickets, with each ticket costing P40.
