While we weren't expecting the GTC 2024 to show off its new Blackwell GPU in a consumer-friendly package , some eagle-eyed visitors spotted the next-generation GDDR7 memory modules during the exhibition. Specifically, at Samsung's both.

As noted by the German tech site, HardwareLuxx, the Samsung GDDR7 memory modules on display had capacities of 16Gbit or 2GB, speeds of 32Gbps, a voltage consumption of 1.1V, and according to the fluff on the dashboard, has a 20% improved power efficiency and 70% decrease in thermal resistance. Compared to the current GDDR6 lineup.

It's interesting to see Samsung listing down this particular GDDR7 module running at 32Gbps, given that earlier reports point to the upcoming GeForce RTX 50 Series - also expected to be powered by Blackwell too - sporting GDDR7 memory running at a lower 28Gbps. Mind you, that's still a heck of a lot faster than what GDDR6 runs at current, which is 21Gbps for top-end cards like the RTX 4090.

On that note, NVIDIA is expected to announce and launch the RTX 50 Series later this year but when that is exactly is still up in the air.
