Rare has announced that Sea of Thieves is finally getting anti-cheat support, which will roll out to all players on Xbox and PC this month.

Players sailing through the Sea of Thieves achievements will finally be able to do it with limited risk of coming across something far worse than pirates... cheaters! Rare will be rolling out an update later this month that adds Sea of Thieves anti-cheat support, so you can have a better experience when playing one of the best Xbox Game Pass games.

Although Rare previously said the GDK's arrival would bring an end to large update downloads, Stevens says a 'packaging issue has meant that our commitment to smaller download sizes is going to be a little further away than we had planned,' so expect to see a fairly chunky update waiting for you later this month. We don't have a date for the update yet, but Sea of Thieves celebrates its sixth anniversary on March 20, so we expect it'll roll out sometime around then.
