Jim Ryan, chief executive officer of Sony Interactive Entertainment, is stepping down after almost 30 years with the company.

The 63-year-old executive said he’s found it difficult to reconcile living in Europe, while working in North America. In a move that underscores the importance of the division, Hiroki Totoki, president and chief financial officer of parent Sony Group Corp., will become interim CEO of the games business when Ryan leaves.Ryan led the video-game division during the launch of its latest console, the PlayStation 5, in November 2020.
