When asked what franchise he would like to see revived in a Q&A session at this year's Tokyo Game Show, Spencer said,"I always wanted us to go back and revisit the MechAssault/MechWarrior space. I think there's a lot we could do.
"There's so much about that whole franchise that in some way was ahead of its time, and it would be nice to get to go back and revisit." Developed by Day 1 Studios and published by Microsoft, MechAssault launched for the original Xbox back in 2002 and was notable for being one of the first games to support Xbox Live online multiplayer. A sequel, MechAssault 2: Lone Wolf, was released in 2004, but it's been quiet on the MechAssault front for Xbox since then. Day 1 Studios is now known as Wargaming Chicago-Baltimore and is currently working on World of Tanks.
Unfortunately, Spencer did go on to say that there are no plans for a revival right now while joking about the recent Xbox leaks,"We don’t have a plan today, so it’s not a leak of anything — speaking of leaks — but that would be a nice one."
