National Cyber Security Centre told government departments that ‘social media, gaming, fitness, gambling or ancillary apps’ should not be downloaded on government devices

Government officials have been told that staff should not download any social media apps on official devices, rather than only avoiding TikTok, the Business Post has learned.

On Friday, the National Cyber Security Centre confirmed that it had notified government officials that staff should not be allowed to install or use TikTok on official government devices due to security risks associated with the Chinese-owned app.
