According to a well-known Nintendo insider, another Mario sports game is already in development at Nintendo, Bandai Namco, and Now Entertainment. The insider continues noting that it's"very likely" that this will be a new Mario Baseball game, which has been dormant since 2008 when Mario Super Sluggers was released via the Nintendo Wii. Unfortunately, this is the extent of the report other than a brief tease that it will have guest characters, and, specifically, Pac-Man.
"In today's 'no s**t' news, Nintendo is preparing a brand new Mario Sports game, this time being developed by Bandai Namco and Now Entertainment. Given that tennis, golf, and soccer have already all got their new installments on Switch, it seems inevitable that baseball will now get its shine as the last core sport in the series not to be touched yet. In business side it's kinda smart to disguise every year Mario game just using now diffrent sports games. I mean people would call them out if they tried make Mario Party every year again. Football and Baseball were out of the pic many years only to battle league ruin it.

Mario Super Sluggers is probably the spin-off of Mario with the best and largest character roaster (excluding Mario Kart Tour). If Nintendo keeps treathing those games as the last ones for Switch, then I don't care if it exist.

As much as this would’ve excited me a couple years ago, after Mario strikers, I’d rather Nintendo not waste their time making Mario sports games anymore. At least for a while.

Mario Super Sluggers is one of my favorite sports games. Here's hoping this is a fun one if it's true.
If the roster is in any way a downgrade from Super Sluggers I'd be disappointed. That roster was the closest to what I think all Mario rosters should strive to be, it even had K. Rool and Toadsworth. They've only gone backwards from there and something tells me that won't change
