EVO Entertainment Group is set to open a new location in Hutto in 2024. The $25 million project will break ground in the spring.The venue will be over 53,000 square feet and include eight theaters, 10 bowling lanes, 7,200 square feet of gaming and attractions, as well as food and drinks."I'm excited to have something to do around here. There's not a lot to do except eating unless we go to Round Rock, so I really hope they get something good," resident Hannah Loveless said.
"I think it's great that Hutto is growing, we're having our own movie theater, and we don't have to fight traffic going to Pflugerville or Round Rock," resident Norma Ridenour said. "Why not Hutto, just an incredible town, growing like a weed and to go from 1,500 people in 2,000 to over 30,000 today, to be close to home, to be such a great family community, it checks all of our boxes," he said.
"It's huge actually, not only is there a lot of property tax involved because they're building a pretty technically-savvy type of building, so that's probably $30 million, $40 million of annual property tax, there's also the entertainment and sales tax-related revenue," Bob Farley, director of economic development for the city of Hutto, said. "It's a win-win for the citizens and the taxpayers," Farley said.
