If you’ve been paying attention over the last year, you’ve likely noticed that many third-party publishers and developers are
leaving behind the Xbox One and PS4 in the process. So on the one hand, it’s not surprising that Sony is too.All you need to do is sign up with your email and boom: credit for your preorder on a new Samsung device. But then again, it was just a few weeks ago that Sony released one of the biggest games of 2022—the new—for both its shiny new PS5 and the aging PS4. And sure, the PS4 port of the game was great.
I have to imagine many devs are also ready to move forward, without having to balance so many different console specs among the PS4, PS4 Pro, Xbox One, One X, One S, and Series X/S, and just focus on a few, bigger, nicer-looking versions of games that are becoming increasingly difficult to make for even one platform. It’s likely that Sony was hesitant to move forward into a PS5-only future while it was impossible for most to even buy the console.
Meanwhile my ps5 has 2 and a half years old and liquid metal harms it in vertical orientation. And NOW they gonna go ps5. We have 4 years before they go ps6...
I think they would have ditched PS4 sooner if it weren’t for the covid.
About time
PS4 in 2050: No games
It's time to official cross over to the next gen!
Only three years into the console cycle ?🙄
Shame really
They need to do this ASAP.
Well, my PS4 ( 1st gen ) still good to be use.... Until i get a PS5 one day ( i hope it's this year that i'll get one )
ABOUT TIME
Doesn't the PS5 just play PS4 games, anyway? There's no reason to continue focusing on the PS4 outside of people who get mad when a new game is only for PS5.
b-but i'm not...
They’ve already started
I don't think this is true they've recently overhauled PS Plus subscription do you think they'll pass on 100million ps4 owners
If Hogwarts Legacy, the most demanding game of the current pipeline will be released on both platforms, that's an opinion, sony usually releases for the most recent generation, but if studies need strong sales numbers, they will keep releasing for both until 2025.
Just like every time a new generation comes, they do cross-releases and slowly stop releasing games. On PS3, FIFA 19 was the last major release. I am sure the same will be true for PS4. They won't ditch completely for a while.
