The Callisto Protocol is a great game, but the Xbox Series ports need work and PC has a range of issues including truly awful stutter:

, but some major issues in the PC and Xbox versions of the game's pre-release code meant that we want to cover these platforms separately.

Outside of the return of the UE4 #StutterStruggle, The Callisto Protocol has other issues on PC that detract from what should be the best-looking version of the game. For instance, graphical settings other than resolution can't be changed while the game is running, so you'll need to return to the main menu to do so - making it somewhat difficult to gauge the performance and visual impact of your changes.

Xbox Series S does not offer a performance or ray tracing option and its dynamic resolution target hovers slightly above 1080p in my testing. It is noticeably blurrier as a result but it's not just image quality that suffers. Series S also features lower resolution textures evident in most scenes and does not utilise features such as sub-surface scattering, which adds so much realism to skin rendering.

TruGifer Damage control

3rd world PC Master Race problems. Couldn't be me paying $3000 for next gen stutter when an optimized $500 PS5 is all anyone ever needs.

I am sorry but it's not a great game but a decent game. Stop trying to make this game something that it's not. Even if they fixed all of the issues I dont think this game is worth the full price.

Where are the tools Micro$cam 🤣🤣🤣

Yeah I was hyped for this game but now it seems they released an unfinished game for other platforms which means they don’t care about other gamer platforms. Won’t be buying it all 🫡

2 years of 'truly awful stutter'. but but VRR. VRR will solve it. haha. nono tools incoming. nono, wait for Direct Storage and Velocity Architecture. nono, Starfield is going to be next gen. just you wait. its 2023 boys. you got duped.

Come on you know why, SONY paid for this, it's part of the deal

Does it? Been fine on my xbox. Or atleast I haven't noticed anything

Everyone blaming Sony is ridiculously funny, Sony is not the developer or publisher, they were hired for MoCap-Lmfao 😂😂😂

So much for technical parity huh PlayStation? Hope you enjoy your Switch ports of Call of Duty for the rest of time 🖕

You just know Sony is behind this

those 150 sony employees rigged the game for Xbox and pc

Accordingly to Digital Foundry, the PS5 version isn’t based on that machine’s horse power, but on pony power…🤦🏻‍♂️

Xbox Series X|S, not Xbox Series.

Welp. Final nail in the coffin then. Not interested in a subpar version of the game on xbox considering the mixed reviews. Clearly they pushed this game out the door too soon just to get ahead of the Dead Space Remake.

The series x is a great machine but the series s is holding it back massively. MS should've just gone for an all digital series x instead. But MS is a scummy company they had to make the series potato to scam people into thinking it's actually next gen.

The Callisto Protocol review round-upThe Callisto Protocol is out now on Xbox, and reviews for the game are in. Here's what critics had to say about Striking Distance Studios' sci-fi survival horror game. Yeah saw the reviews, bought it about to jump in. Saw the achievements doesn't look too bad minus the difficulty one. Nice to have a road map too
