Some 16 Thai nationals employed under Philippine Offshore Gaming Operations (POGO) were rescued for being alleged victims of forced labor in Pampanga, the Philippine National Police (PNP) reported on Sunday.

SOME 16 Thai nationals employed under Philippine Offshore Gaming Operations were rescued for being alleged victims of forced labor in Pampanga, the Philippine National Police reported on Sunday.

The operation emanated from a letter by Minister Counselor Kritreya Lepkao of the Thai Royal Embassy sent last Thursday, October 13. It stated that the embassy received a report that some of its nationals were being forced to work beyond their work hours, but receive no overtime pay from their employer Shedaikeji Technology, which is a POGO firm.

Since they wanted to immediately return to their home country as soon as possible, the rescued foreigners were safely turned over to the Thai embassy.
