China has barred online gamers under the age of 18 from playing on weekdays and limited their play to just three hours most weekends

Starting this week, minors will be allowed only an hour of play time between 8 pm and 9 pm on Friday, weekends and public holidays, according to a statement from Chinese media watchdog — the National Press and Publication Administration — that was posted by state news agency Xinhua on Monday. The move represents a huge tightening of earlier limits set by the agency in 2019, which had restricted play to 90 minutes on weekdays and three hours on weekends for children.

In recent years, the Chinese government implemented a registration system which required people who played computer games to do so under their real names, allowing companies to check up on them. This week, it reiterated that policy, with the NPPA noting that"online game enterprises shall not provide game services in any form ... to users who have not registered or logged in with their real names.

I’m Chinese, and I think the real intent of this policy is to enable the parents to decide whether their kids can play online games or not. Cuz if the kids want to play, they have to ask their parents for help to lend them adults’ game accounts

It is the online game barred but not the the normal game, kids r addicted to the online game easily

For those still settled for China copyit, u need to get off ur games and get out of ur caves. China landed its' rovers on both Mars and moon, launched its' space station, has world's longest high speed rail system, the most complete industries…WAKE UP before it's too late!

Smart!

It’s not a bad idea

It is very good someone is actually taking the action to do something useful for the sake of parents and the future generations.

Governments have always dictated how we live. They have age restrictions on going to clubs, buying alcohol, they mandate certain vaccines, they control tax percentage on goods, etc, etc, etc. And that includes the US government. So what's the problem again? Right. I thought so.

I can handle communism, but no League of Legends? The horror, the horror.

dictatorship cant help but control every aspect of life of the people

China is disciplined in its approach to working its way up in the world. It is following the path that the West took to become the world leader many years ago. Like other great Empires before us it seems we are on the slippery slope. Wake up America to what is happening to us.

Wow, talk about mind control! They control their kids way too much, while we have GOP governors who are trying to harm our children by not masking them in school.

Here's an idea PARENTS, limit your child's screen time and set the rules.

That’s good for them but when are we going to rescue the American hostages in Afghanistan?

Good idea

what if they get hooked on playing chess all day

So now I guess I'll have to mine my own ore in Eve Online.

That's a good thing! News reported on parents oftens receive bill to ask to pay for children's online game expense! lt was so scary! Now don't need to worry anymore!

They do that shit here in america and there will be a revolution!!!!!!

The ccp_er's gotta control any and all modern day influences that make young citizens think, 'Um hey?/Mmm?/wtf?!?'

Imagine the government needs to take over because you can't raise your kids.

Act of responsability though we will be many criticizing because we just want to make our profit no matter how long and at what time kids play. Good
