I’ve written about how we need a Nintendo Switch 2 way too often. I’ve also written enough speculation on the topic that there’s nothing left to speculate. This is the first time writing anything really concrete about the Switch’s successor too, and it’s coming in the most Nintendo way possible. Shuntaro Furukawa, President of Nintendo has had the following to say about the Nintendo Switch 2: We will make an announcement about the successor to Nintendo Switch within this fiscal year.
There’s no confirmation as to what it is, when it could be coming, or what it’s even going to be called, but there’s enough there to really excite me. The Japanese fiscal year ends on March 31st, so we should hear about a Nintendo Switch 2 before the end of Q1 2025. That’s still a long way off, but it’s something to look forward to.
